Fleece for Spinners

From paddock to needle, wheel or hook: fleece the way spinners actually want it.

Black Regal Alpacas is a small family farm of around 40 alpacas, mostly black with a range of natural colours across the herd. We are not chasing volume. We are aiming to be the go-to source for spinners who want fibre they can trust, from a single farm they can trace back to a paddock and, in most cases, a named animal.

Everything below comes straight from our own herd. Nothing here is blended commercial stock.

The fleece ladder

Wherever you are in your spinning journey, there is an entry point:

  • Named one-off fleeces — a specific animal's fleece, shorn once a year. When it is gone, that particular fleece is gone until next shearing.
  • 200g raw bags — full fleeces split into smaller, lower-cost portions so you can sample the fibre before committing to more. Sold raw and unwashed on purpose, so you prep it your own way.
  • Carded bumps — raw fibre carded and ready to spin, for when you want to skip the prep step.
  • Yarn — clean, processed, and ready to knit, crochet or weave straight away.

Named fleeces

Each of these comes from one named alpaca in our herd, shorn once a year. Once a fleece sells out, it does not come back until that animal's next shearing.

200g raw fleece bags

A lower-cost way to sample our fibre before buying a full fleece. Raw and unwashed on purpose, so you can prep it exactly the way you want.

Carded bumps

Raw fibre, carded and ready to spin. Skip the prep and get straight to the wheel.

Yarn

Clean, processed and ready to knit, crochet or weave.
