Every alpaca on our shirts is one of ours.

Anyone who keeps alpacas has had this conversation. They are not llamas. Llamas are half again as big, with banana-shaped ears and a coarse coat, and were bred to carry loads. Alpacas are smaller, have straight ears, and were bred for their fleece. The animal on this shirt would like that cleared up.

He lives at Mulgoa, in western Sydney, and this is him — photographed on our farm, not bought from a stock library.

Printed on an AS Colour Staple Tee in natural, an undyed warm off-white — 180 GSM, 100% combed cotton. The shirt isn't alpaca; the alpaca is on the shirt. Alpaca is a beautiful fibre for socks and knitwear and a poor one for a t-shirt, so we haven't pretended otherwise.

Sizes S to 2XL. Printed to order in Australia and posted direct.

Why Alpaca Fleece is a Smart Investment

Insulative

Naturally warmer than wool yet lightweight and breathable, keeping you comfortable across seasons.

Low Lanolin

Alpaca carries very little lanolin, which is the part of sheep's wool a lot of people react to, and at the same micron it sits smoother against the skin.

Dries Faster

Alpaca takes up less moisture than sheep's wool, around 8 percent regain against roughly 16, so it feels less clammy through the day and dries faster afterwards.

Eco-Friendly

Alpaca fiber is an eco-friendly choice. It is a renewable and biodegradable material that requires very little processing to produce.

Built to Last

Designed as "slow fashion" essentials, these pieces resist trends and can last for decades with proper care.
