Natural Brown Alpaca Yarn — 4 Ply

True Australian alpaca fibre, spun from the fleece of our own alpacas raised at Mulgoa, NSW.

Each skein comes from a blend of natural brown fleeces ranging from 18 to 24 microns. Unlike dyed yarn this shows the real colours of the herd, which also means no two batches match exactly.

Finer than our 8 ply, for lighter knits — garments, accessories, baby items and fine craft work.

Features

  • 100% Australian alpaca fibre
  • From our own Black Regal Alpacas at Mulgoa, NSW
  • Natural brown colour, undyed
  • 4 ply weight
  • 100g skein
  • Fibre micron range: 18–24 microns
  • Milled in Australia, never blended with another farm's clip

From paddock to yarn, with nothing added.

Why Alpaca Fleece is a Smart Investment

Insulative

Naturally warm, lightweight and breathable, keeping you comfortable across seasons.

Low Lanolin

Alpaca carries very little lanolin, which is the part of sheep's wool a lot of people react to, and at the same micron it sits smoother against the skin.

Dries Faster

Alpaca takes up less moisture than sheep's wool, around 8 percent regain against roughly 16, so it feels less clammy through the day and dries faster afterwards.

Eco-Friendly

Alpaca fiber is an eco-friendly choice. It is a renewable and biodegradable material that requires very little processing to produce.

Built to Last

Designed as "slow fashion" essentials, these pieces resist trends and can last for decades with proper care.
