Natural White Alpaca Raw Fleece - 1kg

Premium Australian alpaca fibre straight from the source, sold by the kilo.

This 1kg bag of natural white alpaca fleece comes directly from our Black Regal Alpacas herd in Mulgoa, NSW. Harvested from our own animals and supplied in its natural state, this fleece has not been washed, allowing hand spinners, fibre artists and processors to prepare it according to their own preferences.

White is the one colour that gives you a choice. Spin it as it is for a clean, bright yarn, or use it as a base and take dye beautifully. It is also the easiest colour to see what you are doing with while you are learning to prepare fleece.

Ideal for hand spinning, dyeing, blending, felting, doll making, fibre preparation and educational projects.

Why Alpaca Fleece is a Smart Investment

Insulative

Naturally warm, lightweight and breathable, keeping you comfortable across seasons.

Low Lanolin

Alpaca carries very little lanolin, which is the part of sheep's wool a lot of people react to, and at the same micron it sits smoother against the skin.

Dries Faster

Alpaca takes up less moisture than sheep's wool, around 8 percent regain against roughly 16, so it feels less clammy through the day and dries faster afterwards.

Eco-Friendly

Alpaca fiber is an eco-friendly choice. It is a renewable and biodegradable material that requires very little processing to produce.

Built to Last

Designed as "slow fashion" essentials, these pieces resist trends and can last for decades with proper care.
